She took to her YouTube to share how a former house helper stood by her years ago when she was broke and depressed.
Betty recalled that the nanny agreed to go without six months’ pay, as the 11Th Hour singer had no money at all.
For standing with her, the singer is searching for the house help to reward her now.
“It was about 2015,2016 thereabouts. I was down financially and depressed, I was so down I can’t lie to you, there was a domestic worker, who stayed with me for six months without pay.
When she noticed I was struggling to pay her, I had a young baby , when she noticed all these things, she told me she would sacrifice her pay (madam mimi usistuke na mimi, mimi tutapogana hii vita mpaka tutoboe, mpaka niwache umesimama. she told me not to worry (mimi, mimi usiwe unastuka na mimi, wewe jua kuna chakula, watoto wakule, na wewe uko sawa, sitaki kukuona na stress”
It was worse as Betty was sleeping on the floor, and her nanny encouraged her that she would overcome her circumstances.
One time Betty paid her 2k, and the household bought food items to feed the family.
According to Betty, she was one of a kind.
“She took that money and bought food, and told me ‘ unajua vita zingine ni vizuri upigane ukiwa umeshiba. Hatuwezi nganganna hivi na hatuna food.’This moved Betty ” I looked at her, you know that time I had depression, I was carried away by the problems I was facing, ”
