Since the news of her death was broken to his family, life and things have never remained the same in the entire household. Adedoyin was in SS2 class and was already planning to mark her 15th birthday when she died in a tragic circumstance.

During a special interview with the Punch Newspaper, her father, Adeyemi Adebayo narrated the devastation her death has caused him and his mother since that day.

According to him, the young girl was their only child and apple of their eyes. The 46 years old cab driver explained that her mother has remained destabilized and could not hold herself together since the news was broken to them. As a matter of fact, it is still like a dream to them.

On that particular day, he was driving along the road as a cab driver who regularly ply the route when he saw scores of students from the school trying to wave him down. They were shouting her name, Adedoyin!

He parked his cab and on getting there, he was told that his daughter was among the students crushed by the truck and had been rushed to the hospital. He went to LASUTH to check those who were admitted there but could not find her. Then he went to the police station to lodge an official complain.

He was at the police station when his brother called to break the news of her death after she was discovered at the Lagos Mainland Hospital Mortuary. Mr. Adebayo confessed that he ran mad instantly. The policemen had to hold and console him.

He described his late daughter as a promising young girl who was like a guarding Angel to them. She would hug her mum before leaving for school. He confirmed that it would take the grace of God for them to get over the shock of her death being their only child.

While Lagos police command confirmed that only two students were killed in the accident while others were injured and are receiving treatment in the hospital, several eyewitness reports however put the figure at over 20 students that died at the spot.

According to multiple on-the-spot reports, the Truck Driver was being chased by the officials of Lagos State Transport Management Authority when he allegedly lost control and rammed into the students who were just closing for the day.

Lastma has however debunked the reports saying its men were not involved in the matter.
