A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the Gunners are likely to hold out for a fee of around £35million for the 21-year-old.

It is believed getting such a fee for Balogun will help Arsenal land their own top targets in the summer window.

The striker enjoyed a brilliant season-long loan at Ligue 1 outfit Stade de Reims in the 2022-23 campaign.

He notched 22 goals and three assists across 39 appearances in all competitions at Reims.

Balogun also spent the 2021-22 campaign on loan at Middlesbrough, but managed just three goals and three assists in 21 total appearances.

The forward has gone public to rule out another temporary exit this summer, telling the media he “definitely won’t go on loan again” for the 2023-24 season.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Balogun is “keen to lay down roots at a permanent home” if he is to exit Arsenal.

The 21-year-old has recently pledged his allegiance to the United States, making his first two appearances for the USMNT in friendlies earlier this month.

He scored his first international goal in a 2-0 win over Canada last week (19 June).

Balogun’s contract at Arsenal, which earns him a reported wage of £30,000-a-week, is set to run until June 2025.
