This habit is not expected from a high profile footballer like Cristiano Ronaldo. It is very poor of him to show off such character while his team were leading comfortably in the first half.
The referee was acting based on the rules of the game and because the time has elapsed, he has the right to blow the halftime whistle. The character portrayed by the 38 year old striker shows that he is not disciplined and could allow his emotions get hold of him because he didn’t score a goal even if his team is leading.
