The Portuguese was on Saturday linked to Chelsea after his agent Jorge Mendes reportedly met with the club’s new owner, Todd Boehly.
Ronaldo is unlikely to consider a transfer to Stamford Bridge because of his loyalty to Man United, but Chelsea could do with someone like Cristiano leading their attack.
Thomas Tuchel needs a strong leader who can step up on big occasions for the team and no one is better suited for that role than Ronaldo.
Over the past few years, Chelsea have failed to win both the Premier League title and FA Cup despite heavy investments on the squad.
The last time Chelsea won the EPL was 5 years ago when Antonio Conte led the Blues to the league title in his first season at the club. Then the following year (2018), Conte won the FA Cup with Chelsea, beating Man United 1-nil at Wembley to clinch the trophy.
Since then, they’ve not got their hands on both silverware again, but with Ronaldo’s match-winning goals, they can.
The 37-year old is someone who rarely loses final. Recall that Chelsea made the final of the FA Cup in the last three seasons but failed to win any of them.
The Blues lost 1-2 to Arsenal two years ago, lost 1-nil to Leicester in 2021 and then fell to a penalty shootout defeat to Liverpool this year.
Had Ronaldo been in the Chelsea team, with his winning mentality and eye for goals, there’s a huge possibility that they could have won those finals.
Cristiano have also tasted glory in the Premier League 3 consecutive times with Man United, so he already has that experience and with him in Tuchel’s team, he can help them win it next term.
All Chelsea’s board of directors have to do is persuade him to join them, besides they can guarantee him Champions League which Man United cannot.
