Wednesday, June 15, 2022, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba, announced this information.

The spokesperson asked Nigerians to show patient as the party through a democratic process that would result in the selection of a suitable running partner.

Recall that the people democratic party just established a screening committee for its vice presidential nominee.

Dr. Akilu Indabawa and Mr. Sunday Omobo are the Secretaries for the committee chaired by Chief Tom Ikimi.

Capt. Idris Wada, Chief Osita Chidoka, Binta Bello, Chief Mutiat Adedoja, Austin Opara, Prof. Aisha Madawaki, Mrs. Ayotunde George-Ologun, Chief Chidiebelu Mofus, and Fidelis Tapgun were also allowed to serve on the committee.

Ologunagba refused to disclose the number of vice presidential candidates slated for screening while commenting on the work before the screening committee.

“I don’t know how many will be tested tomorrow,” he added. The NWC convened today as part of the party’s consultation process; you should wait for the conclusion. We have till Friday, but in a few hours, we’ll be done.”

Contrary to rumours, the National Working Committee created the Umaru Damagum committee, the spokesperson said.

This guarantee was provided by Ayu during his opening comments at the meeting with members of the consultative group that had been established to help Atiku in selecting a running mate.

Additionally, it was stated that Ayu was participating in a meeting behind closed doors with a number of party stakeholders in the national office of the party.

He added that the meeting was a continuation of discussions that intended to arrive at a candidate that Nigerians would be happy to elect into government and that was the purpose of the meeting.
