Lautaro Martinez and Ángel Di María were on the scoresheet for Argentina. Nevertheless, the players below are the best and worst in the match.

Best Players

Lautaro Martínez – Argentina

The Inter Milan forward was unstoppable against Italy this evening, as he frustrated their defense line. Lautaro Martinez scored one goal and registered an assist, which means he’s literally the best player at the 2022 Finalissima.

The Argentine is indeed an all-round striker, as he dropped to the midfield to receive the ball from his teammates. With two goal contributions against Italy, Martinez was the best player on the pitch.

Lionel Messi – Argentina

The PSG attacker played as a creator against the Roberto Mancini’s men. Of course, he didn’t score, but he literally orchestrated everything by himself. Lionel Messi registered two assists, with 100% dribbles, 3 big chances created and 5 duels won.

The 7th Ballon D’or was responsible for Argentina’s Finalissima victory over Italy, because he was everywhere on the pitch both defensively and offensively.

Worst Players

Matteo Pessina – Italy

The Italian midfielder was ghosted against Argentina, as he wasn’t allowed to command the midfield alongside Jorginho. Matteo Pessina lost ball possessions several times because the likes of Martinez and Messi dropped deep into the midfield.

That’s why he was removed in the second-half, because he didn’t add anything to the team’s performance. Matteo was poor against the Argentines, as he failed to control the midfield.

Federico Bernardeschi – Italy

The Juventus attacking midfielder didn’t help the team’s performance either. Federico Bernardeschi was ghosted by Rodrigo De Paul and Nicolás Tagliafico, because he couldn’t handle them.

As a result, he was unable to add anything to the team’s offensive performance, as the Lionel Scaloni’s men weren’t joking at the back. Italy were off the ball up front because Bernardeschi didn’t have enough space to enter their opponent’s box.

Congratulations to Argentina.
