Despite Callum Hudson-Odoi’s talent, Chelsea hasn’t given him a chance to gain momentum.
He requires playing time, like other rookie players, in order to develop consistency and find his rhythm. Because of competition for positions and his own injury concerns, it hasn’t arrived at Chelsea.
Hudson-Odoi is prepared to challenge for a spot in Chelsea’s starting lineup after arriving early for preseason and taking just one week off following the end of the previous campaign, but a loan or permanent move abroad may be more appropriate to ensure he plays frequently.
2. Hakim Ziyech
Now that Raheem Sterling and Raphinha are being pursued, Hakim Ziyech is certain to leave Chelsea this summer.
Two seasons into his Blues career, Ziyech has yet to establish himself as a first-choice option. His inconsistent play hasn’t helped his cause, and with Conor Gallagher impressing on loan at Crystal Palace, he may be sacrificed.
They are obviously quite different players, but Tuchel might decide to use Gallagher more forward to take advantage of his incredible pushing skills. If that’s the case and Sterling shows up, Ziyech could have to move aside.
3. Ross Barkley
Ross Barkley was unexpectedly kept in the fold last season after being abandoned in 2020–21 and loaned to Aston Villa.
He was able to make an unusual appearance, although his game time was brief because he was just a backup.
Barkley might enter Tuchel’s consideration because of Chelsea’s center midfield’s propensity for injuries, but with Gallagher, Billy Gilmour, and Ethan Ampadu returning to the team this summer, he won’t be required when the season begins.
The former Everton player is still a talented player and would work for a Premier League team, even though he may not be worth a high transfer fee. not for Chelsea, though.
4. Kepa Arrizabalaga
Kepa only appeared four times in the Premier League last season because Edouard Mendy continued to start.
Kepa was recruited by Maurizio Sarri, the manager of Lazio, who has expressed interest in the player in the past. If Kepa wants to leave Chelsea, the Blues are unlikely to stand in his way.
But Tuchel has praised his backup goalkeeper, who appears to have learned from his earlier errors. This one has a lot of potential.
5. Malang Sarr
Malang remains competitive despite the low back positions. Sarr doesn’t seem to have much of a chance of being noticed.
Sarr might move to Italy in quest of first-team time given the interest shown by Torino and Milan.
The only potential issue is the Chelsea center-backs’ present contractual circumstances. Andreas Christensen has joined Barcelona, while Antonio Rudiger has moved on to Real Madrid.
If agreements can’t be reached, that leaves Chelsea incredibly vulnerable at the back, thus Sarr might have to swap teams.
