So far, about 15 politicians across political lines have been linked to the politics of the 2023 presidency. However, some of them have openly declared to contest while 3 PDP chieftains are yet to do the same but are being tipped to run come 2023.

Those who have declared interests in PDP so far include Bukola Saraki, Dele Momodu, Anyim Pius Anyim, Doyin Okupe, and Sam Ohuabunwa. However, the first female 2023 presidential aspirant, Khadijah Okunu-Lamidi, who declared interest last week in Lago is yet to disclose a political party to use.

As the stakeholders and leaders of the two major political parties, PDP and APC in the country are still planning and weighing different options ahead of 2023, campaign posters of some presidential hopefuls have started littering the places already.

Those whose posters and billboards are yet to be seen anywhere have been giving us hints about their intentions to run for the highest political office in the country. Those who fall into this category are examined in this article.

1. Atiku Abubakar

The former vice president is a chieftain in the party who is being tipped to run for the 2023 presidential election. Of course, he has made many attempts in the past not only in the PDP but in the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN.

A campaign group led by Chief Raymond Dokpesi has been moving around the geo-political zones to canvass for the actualization of Atiku’s presidency.

Based on the political activities going on, It’s being speculated that the familiar face of the former Vice President, may be on campaign billboards and posters again for the 2023 presidency.

It is believed that the next election might provide him another chance, and if he eventually announces his interest to be in the race. This could be further possible if he wins litigation slammed against his nationality status!

2. Bala Mohammed

It’s been reported that the Bauchi State governor is among the PDP governors being considered for the presidency. Recall that in July 2021, the governor said members of the party in his state have cleared him to contest.

Also, Governor Wike in his recent visit to this State tipped him for the plum. Wike had claimed that the chances of PDP winning the 2023 presidency are much brighter if the party fields Mohammed for the race.

The governor has also spoken about his endorsement by various groups. This goes to say the governor is ready for the race to Aso Rock. But, he is yet to officially declare his interest!

3. Aminu Tambuwal

The former House of Representatives speaker and the incumbent governor of Sokoto State is another being tipped to run for the presidency who is yet to openly declare his ambition.

It has, of course, been rumored that some PDP governors hijacked the party structure in the just concluded national convention of the party. The speculations say they had done this with a plan to make Tambuwal emerge as the party’s candidate in the next election.

However, the 56-yr-old politician is still consulting! What is clear as day is that the governor is low-key prepping himself for the office of the president.
