The GLC Class is back for the 2024 model year. There hasn’t been any incredible changes as it was redesigned in 2023. There will be an added AMG version as well as the GLC Coupe, which has finally obtained the same redesign as well. Did you know that the GLC actually replaced the GLK? That’s right, the three-pointed star switched it over in 2016 to align better with their other SUV products and to further signify that it’s the “C-Class” of the SUV line up.
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Class is a versatile compact luxury SUV that comes in one powertrain, two drivetrains and has one transmission.
The rear-wheel drive base model starts at a cool $47,100 and comes packed with a bevy of features you’d come to expect from a Mercedes luxury vehicle. Engine Specifications And Performance
While the 2.0-Liter Turbocharged Inline 4-Cylinder engine might not be wholly new for 2024, the 48-volt mild-hybrid system is. The new starter generator system will add an additional 23 ponies and 148 pound-feet of torque. Rounding out the total output to 255 horsepower and 295 pound feet of torque.
The powertrain is subsequently tethered to either a rear-wheel drive or Mercedes-Benz all-wheel drive system dubbed “4Matic.” The GLC Class has a top speed of 130 MPH and a 0 to 60 of either 5.6 or 6.1 seconds depending on the drivetrain. All of this is shifted together by a 9-speed automatic transmission.
In looking towards suspensions, the GLC is equipped with a sporty (sport) suspension. The front suspension houses a four-link iteration while the rear suspension has an independent, multi-link design. The EU will benefit from AIRMATIC air suspension, which the US market surprisingly does not receive.

Towing Capabilities And Payload Capacity
To bring up the European Union again, they don’t have a ton of half-ton pickup trucks or body-on-frame SUVs to choose from to help them tow. That’s why the compact luxury GLC can tow an astonishing maximum capacity of 5,291 pounds. Surprisingly, the all-wheel drive 4Matic tows a significantly less amount, but all of this is helped along by a class II tow hitch regardless.

Off-Road Capability
Your eyes do not deceive you. That is an image of a 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4Matic on three wheels. We said this in our GLC Coupe overview, but Mercedes is really showing off the fact that these are off-road ready.
The GLC will feature an “off-road mode” and a “transparent hood.” These features allow the driver to not only see the undercarriage of their GLC, but it will also show them pertinent information like pitch and roll and turning radius of their Benz during their off-road excursion…CONTINUE READING>>
