The PDP Governors, who have dumped the Party for APC, are the Governor of Ebonyi State, Governor Umahi, the Governor of Cross Rivers State, Governor Ben Ayade and Zamfara State Governor, Governor Bello Matawalle.
However, Some Leaders of the PDP, may not Leave the Party, due to one reasons or the other. Some of the Leaders that may find it difficult, to leave the PDP, If Saraki remains in the Party shall be discussed.
One of the PDP Leaders that may find it difficult to dump PDP for APC, is the former Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed. It should be recalled that Abdulfatah Ahmed was the Governor of Kwara state, between 2011 and 2019.
He took the mantle of Leadership from Senator Bukola Saraki. Abdulfatah Ahmed is very cordial to Saraki and he may find it difficult to dump PDP for any other Political Parties, except Saraki leaves the Party.
It should be recalled that Saraki dumped APC for PDP together with his loyalists, which Abdulfatah Ahmed was one of them in 2018. The only condition that can make Abdulfatah Ahmed, to leave PDP, is if Saraki leaves the Party. But if Saraki should remain in PDP, it may be difficult for Abdulfatah Ahmed to leave the Party, because of his cordial relationship, he has with Saraki.
The reason is that, Abdulfatah Ahmed became Governor of Kwara State, with the support of Senator Saraki. The Late Olushola Saraki who was the late father of Bukola Saraki wanted her daughter, to succeed Bukola Saraki but Saraki vowed impose Abdulfatah Ahmed, on his sister, Gbemisola Saraki. Abdulfatah Ahmed and Senator Saraki have been together, since that time.
Another PDP Leader that may also find it difficult to leave the Party, if Saraki remains in the Party, is Senator Dino Melaye. Melaye happens to be one of the Loyalists of Senator Bukola Saraki.
Melaye was the former Senator of Kogi, who represented the People of Kogi West Sensorial District, at the 8th National Assembly, Abuja. He defected to PDP, along with Saraki in 2018, and since then, he has been committed to the progress of Party.
Senator Melaye has always being one of the supporters of Senator Bukola Saraki. There was a time, some Senators were plotting, to remove Saraki as Senate President at the 8th National Assembly, Senator Melaye was one of the Senator that stood behind him.
Melaye was granted an interview with the Channel called Channel Television Flagship’s Political Programs. Melaye made it known that, any attempt to unseat Senator Bukola will not succeed. Melaye still maintains good relationship with Saraki, up till today.
It should be recalled that Dino Melaye became Senator under the platform of APC but he could not win his second term election. Smart Adeyemi, who contested under the Platform of APC defeated Melaye.
Though, Senator Bukola Saraki has so many Loyalists but Dino Melaye and Abdulfatah Ahmed, may find it difficult to leave Saraki in PDP, and defect to another Party.
Meanwhile, It was gathered that Saraki might be contesting, 2023 Presidential Election. This means that Saraki may not leave the Party, for now.
