In regards to this, I will be presenting Two thing that might happen in PDP if Atiku gets the party Presidential Ticket in 2023.
Atiku Abubakar is one of the Influential members of the Peoples Democratic party, He was the PDP Presidential candidate in the 2019 election. He is one PDP leader that has been Tipped for the position of the presidency and this has been seen by leaders of 17 political parties and civil society groups in Delta state coming out to endorsed him to contest for the 2023 presidency.
According to the punch newspaper, The Director General of the ‘CASGI ATIKU 2023, Mr. Obinna Okorie, who inaugurated the coalition group in Delta State, stated that the group has endorsed the former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, to run for President come 2023.
However, if Atiku Abubakar finally decides to contest for the 2023 presidency and become lucky enough to win the party ticket, two things are likely to happen in the Peoples Democratic party.
1. If Atiku Abubakar get the PDP Presidential ticket, The Party might lose in the North
Since the outgoing president Buhari is from the North, I believe that if Atiku gets the PDP ticket, the party might lose in the North, Based on the fact that some politicians in the zone might want the presidency to rotate to another zone for the seek for fairness and equity.
2. The party might lose some Influential PDP Members in the South.
Since the southern leaders are already demanding that the 2023 presidency should be zone to the South, I believe that the zone will want to work as a team against the PDP if Atiku gets the party ticket, Based on the fact that he is from the North. With this, it might cause the PDP to lose some Influential members that will be aggrieved because of the zoning formula.
