The highest EPL goal scorer (Mohamed Salah) in the season is one of these three wingers. The 29-year-old Egyptian featured as a right singer in thirty five matches for Liverpool in the 2021/22 season. Within the period, he scored twenty three league goals and made fourteen assists. It is worthy of note that the three-time EPL Golden Boot winner had one hat trick in the season.
South Korean super star, Heung-min Son (who also has twenty three league goals in the season) is also a winger. This dual-footed player made this record in Tottenham Hotspurs. Like Salah, this Korean footballer has thirty five league appearances (with one hat trick) but unlike the Egyptian, he had 5 less EPL assists. He also has the propensity to play in the right wing and as a striker.
The only two strikers in the top five are Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United and Harry Kane of Tottenham. This duo had 18 and 17 league goals respectively. It is worthy of note that the former got his mark in thirty matches while the latter played I’m thirty seven.
Another player that scored more than fifteen goals within the season is Sadio Mané who plays in Liverpool with Salah. This 2022 World Cup bound Senegalese scored sixteen goals in thirty four appearances in the just-concluded to become the third highest scoring winger of the season.
It is worth noting that only one of these top scorers will not be playing at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
