what they are actually saying is that if you let things continue the way they are, you will most likely get hurt. People say they don’t want to hurt you before right before they do.
“I am not looking for a relationship”
it is not a question of timing, It is not because they are not looking for a relationship in principle. They have decided that they don’t want a relationship with you specifically.
“You’re too good for me”.
Do not take this phrase as a compliment. It is a promise they have figured out what you want and what you deserve and have already decided they either can’t or don’t want to give it to you.
“This is your problem, not mine”
this statement is often used as a way to avoid taking any responsibility for the relationship troubles that are currently happening.
“You’re being too emotional”
