In this article, I’m going to be sharing with you why it is so using Tyson Fury and Andy Ruiz as an example because as you know despite their size and non-athletic build, they have taken down boxers that are more fit than they are simply because being fat is an advantage in itself.
A fat boxer has the ability to absorb more punches from their opponent due to their heavy body and although they are a bit slow the fact is that they have heavier strikes, and they burn a lot of calories as the fight drags on in the later rounds while athletic boxers may approach their limits faster due to their well developed muscles needing oxygen as they expend their energy.
