Even though Real Madrid knocked out Chelsea, Paris-Saint-Germain, and Manchester City on their way to the final, Liverpool’s good run of form in this calendar year means it was no surprise Owen backed them to be victorious.

The Reds have only lost once in 2022, a defeat against Inter Milan in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16. To be precise, they have won 28, drawn 5, and lost just 1 out of the 34 matches they have played since the beginning of January.

That said, Real Madrid is no pushover as they have also been in good form this season. However, Liverpool’s pace could catch them by surprise, especially at the beginning of that match, as their form has dipped a little after they took their foot off the pedal following the La Liga title win.
