1. The Buhari Administration Supports The Lagos State Railway Project.

To demonstrate its unalloyed support for viable projects being executed by state governments that can help to grow and stabilize Nigeria’s economy, the Buhari administration is currently helping the Lagos State Government to finance its famous Blue Line Railway Project.

With a grant of N60bn issued to the Lagos State Government through the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Blue Line Railway Project is expected to be completed by the 1st Quarter of the year 2022 and is also expected to positively transform local transportation within Lagos with the overall mission of decongesting the usually chaotic and jam-packed city traffic on the roads.

Remarkably, the new jobs currently created in the construction of this Blue Line, coupled with the various economic activities that will flow out of it when completed make the support of the Buhari administration for the project a validly sound economic decision.

2. The Apapa- Oshodi – Oworonshoki Expressway Is Set For Completion And Commissioning.

The reconstruction project of the Apapa – Oshodi – Oworonshoki Expressway, whose contract was awarded by the Buhari administration in November 2018, is now being completed and is set to be commissioned this month (December 2021).

The project is part of the bargain between the Federal Government and Dangote Industries Limited, which allows the company to construct certain roads in the country in place of a 10-year tax rebate worth about N72.9bn. And this is coming after an initial attempt to fix this particular expressway in 2013 failed, even after the sum of N15bn was expended on it.

As a major busy road in the Lagos area, the completion and reopening of this road will certainly raise the level of socioeconomic activities in the State.
