Barcelona is one of the biggest clubs in Spain, their female team is currently the most successful and these Nigerian footballers currently play for them.
1. Asisat Oshoala
The forward is one of the greatest African footballers of all time, and the only African footballer to win five Africa Player of the Year award. After playing in Nigeria, England, and China, she finally settled in Barcelona in 2019.
In Barcelona, she’s been able to win all major and important trophies in her club career, including the Champions League.
2. Vicky Lopez
She is a skillful, pacy, and tricky winger who was born to a Spanish father and Nigerian mum in 2006. The 16-year-old spent good time in Madrid CFF youth ranks and even became a professional there in 2021.
After scoring 14 goals in 20 games for Madrid CFF, Barcelona came calling, and she joined the Blaugranas. In one of Barcelona’s games, she took a photo with Super Falcons midfielder, Rita Chikwelu, and she took another one with Asisat Oshoala when Barcelona won the Gamper trophy.
Even though she is representing Spain at youth levels, per Wikipedia, she already made her intentions known about representing Nigeria. She is so proud of her Nigerian heritage that it comes before the Spanish flag on her social media pages.
