Mason Mount’s stunning late goal helped the London based outfit earn their first victory during the preseason tour of the United States.
Tuchel was able to offer several players, including those who spent last season on loan, the chance to impress, and some of them most definitely did, even though it was not exactly a resounding win.
Ampadu, who is known for his versatility, may have discovered his best role in this Chelsea lineup, according to Tuchel, who spoke about it after the game.
The manager, speaking on the official Chelsea website, stated, “Ethan played incredibly well in a nice position for him in the heart of a back three.”
“He plays a lot of vertical passes; he didn’t play from left to right, only through the opponent’s lines with passes and occasionally with dribbles.
He was really energetic, so it fit him well. He is also training pretty well.
Interestingly, the Wales international played a number of positions during his loan spell at Italian club, Venezia during the 21/22 campaign, but was mainly used as a DM.
His outstanding ball-playing abilities could benefit the team as a centre-back, particularly in the middle of the back three, given Chelsea’s tendency to create from the back line.
