The Manchester United superstar has made it known he wants to quit the club after their poor season. It has cast doubt over his pre-season involvement with Chelsea among those keen as they themselves look to get their summer recruitment going.

It has recently been revealed that Arsenal are interested in signing highly-rated Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic Savic this summer, and that the Gunners had placed an early opening bid for the Serbian as they look to bolster their midfield options.

A first offer of £47 million had been rejected by the Serie A club but according to Italian news outlet Il Messaggero, via TuttoJuve, there has been a renewed push regarding Arsenal’s interest and a second bid could be on its way in the coming days.

The report suggests that Mikel Arteta’s side ‘could go up to £55m’ for the midfielder.

Supposed Liverpool target Marco Asensio has had his price tag revealed by Real Madrid as the Spaniard looks for a potential move away from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, with the La Liga champions willing to cash in on him before his contract runs out next year.

According to a report by Media Foot Marseille, as cited by Sports Mole, United along with Wolves, are ‘interested’ in signing AS Monaco striker Wissam Ben Yedder. As per the report, the Frenchman is someone that they are ‘considering’ making a move for.

Ben Yedder joined Monaco from Sevilla in 2019 and has scored 73 goals in just 124 games, having become a popular name in European football in recent years. The 31-year-old recorded 32 goals and seven assists in 52 games in all competitions last season.

Ross County sign Eastwood

Sheffield United goalkeeper Jake Eastwood has joined Ross County on a season-long loan.

“Jake is a goalkeeper that has tested himself across different leagues during his career so far and has worked with some really good goalkeepers and coaches,” said Ross County manager Malky Mackay.

“We are delighted he has joined us for the current campaign, and I would like to thank Sheffield United for seeing Ross County as the place where Jake can really challenge himself this season.”

Reports from Brazil claim that Andreas Pereira has accepted an offer from Fulham and will leave Manchester United imminently.

The midfielder, 25, will reportedly sign a three-year contract at Craven Cottage, with the option of an extra season.

Newly-promoted Fulham are set to pay an initial £9million and a further £3m in bonuses.

Chelsea hope to complete the signing of England forward Raheem Sterling and at least one defender before they set off on their American tour this weekend.

A deal for Manchester City star Sterling is believed to be close, and although the Blues’ pursuit of Seville centre-back Jules Kounde has gone quiet in the last 10 days, the powerful French centre-back is still believed to be in head coach Thomas Tuchel’s sights.

New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly will have to meet the Spanish club’s buy-out clause of around £72 million, and Seville sporting director Monchi is reported as saying: “Jules Koundé has chances to leave the club if some club will pay the release clause. Chelsea made a bid last week but we didn’t like it.”

Chelsea want versatile Bayern Munich full-back Benjamin Pavard.

Thomas Tuchel has targeted the 26-year-old France international with Bayern set to gazump him for Juventus centre-half Matthijs de Ligt. Pavard is being eyed up as an alternative as even though he is predominately a right-back he can play across the back line.

Juventus are also big admirers of Pavard but see De Ligt as more of a priority. Atletico Madrid are also keen. Pavard has lifted three Bundesliga titles with Bayern and helped to clinch the Champions League in 2020.

He made 35 appearances for the German giants in all competitions last season and has been playing for them since 2019, when he joined from Stuttgart in a £30m deal.

Former Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn has joined Preston on a one-year deal.

The 22-year-old is hoping to reignite his career after becoming Liverpool’s youngest ever scorer in November 2016.
