Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Spain’s Under-21s defender Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht.

The 21-year-old moves to the Etihad Stadium on a four-year deal for a fee of 13m euros (£11m) plus add-ons.

Gomez came through the Barcelona academy before playing under former City captain Vincent Kompany at the Belgian club.

“To be part of this club is a dream come true and something any young player would aspire to,” said Gomez.

“I’m very happy that Manchester City is giving me the opportunity and I’m going to try to give my best on the pitch. Hopefully, we can achieve great things together.”

DONE DEAL: Tottenham complete the signing of Destiny Udogie

Tottenham have completed the £15m signing of defender Destiny Udogie from Serie A club Udinese.

Udogie has agreed a five-year contract, while the fee could rise by a further £3m with add-ons.

The Italy Under-21 international, who only joined Udinese permanently this summer, will be loaned back to them for the rest of the campaign.

A left-back, he scored five goals and made four assists in 35 league appearances for Udinese last season.

Udinese signed Udogie on a season’s loan from Hellas Verona in July 2021, and were obliged to buy him this summer as part of that deal – by which time his performances had attracted interest from other clubs.

Manchester United keen on signing Casemiro

Real Madrid and Brazil midfielder Casemiro is also a target for Manchester United. But according to Real Madrid sources, Casemiro is not interested in a move to Manchester United and the La Liga club has not received an offer.

Manchester United have been linked with Alvaro Morata, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Raul de Tomas and Matheus Cunha to boost the forward line, while the midfielder they’ve been most consistently linked with is Frenkie de Jong.

But, now there is the option of Casemiro and some Manchester United directors are actually in Madrid at this moment in time.

If Casemiro were to leave, Ancelotti would still have his sidekicks Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, as well as Fede Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, Dani Ceballos and summer arrival Aurelien Tchouameni.

The Premier League side are exploring an ambitious move for the Brazil international as their search for midfield reinforcements goes on.

Casemiro has been a hugely influential figure at Real Madrid in recent years alongside Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, establishing himself as one of the best midfielders in the world.

After a Champions League and La Liga double last season, Casemiro is settled at Real with sources claiming that United accept the move is ‘a long shot.’

But while the 30-year-old’s preference is to stay at the Bernabeu, the report adds a move to Manchester is a possibility with United considering a £50million offer.

The Spanish giants are claimed to be open to using ex-Chelsea striker Morata or France star Griezmann to get a deal over the line. It’s added that Erik ten Hag has now changed his stance on selling Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is claimed to have been impressed by Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone’s eagerness to have him on board in his squad.
