RB Leipzig will pay Chelsea £16.5million plus bonuses to re-sign striker Timo Werner, according to Sky Germany.

Chelsea signed Werner from Leipzig for £48m in 2020 but the move hasn’t worked for the Germany international, who has scored just 23 goals in 89 appearances for the club.

Werner is understood to be arriving in Leipzig today to finalise his return to the Bundesliga club where he made his professional debut, scoring 95 goals in 159 appearances between 2016 and 2020.

Man Utd Target Set To Join Bundesliga Side

Benjamin Sesko is close to signing for RB Leipzig from sister club Red Bull Salzburg, according to Sky in Germany.

He is expected to be loaned back to the Austrian club until 2023. The 19-year-old Slovenia striker has been a target for Manchester United.

This does not impact on Leipzig’s deal for Timo Werner. Sesko will sign a deal until 2028 at RB Leipzig. The fee is roughly £20m. He will continue to play for Salzburg this season.

Sachez set for Marseille after Inter exit

Alexis Sanchez is set to join Marseille on a free transfer after his deal with Inter Milan was officially terminated.

Inter announced on Monday that the club had reached an agreement with the former Arsenal and Manchester United forward to cancel his contract which would have expired next summer.

The 33-year-old is expected to fly to France and sign a two-year deal with OM at the weekend.

West Ham hold talks with PSG over Kehrer

West Ham have held initial talks with PSG over the signing of defender Thilo Kehrer. He is a German international who can play at centre-back and full-back.

Sevilla are also interested and they can offer Champions League football. West Ham looking to bring in a central defender before Sunday’s game at Nottingham Forest.

Man Utd agree deal to sign Rabiot, Confident on Arnautovic

Manchester United have agreed a deal with Juventus to sign midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

There is still work to do until the deal is complete, with personal terms still needing to be negotiated with his agent and mother Veronique.

Juventus are satisfied with letting Rabiot, who has only one year left on his contract, leave the club this summer.

Meanwhile, United also remain confident of signing striker Marko Arnautovic from Bologna, according to Sky in Italy correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio.

United had a bid of around £7.6m (€9m) euros for Bologna’s Marko Arnautovic rejected over the weekend, Sky in Italy reported.

Konyaspor make offer for Boro’s Ikpeazu

Turkish club Konyaspor have made an official offer to sign Middlesbrough forward Uche Ikpeazu. They have proposed a free transfer with a 20% sell-on.

Ikpeazu has two years left on his contract. He was not in the squad for either of Middlesbrough’s opening two Championship games.

Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has joined Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray in a permanent transfer.

The Uruguay international made 89 appearances after joining the Gunners from Sampdoria in July 2018 and won the FA Cup in 2020.

DONE DEAL: Bournemouth extend contract of Smith

Bournemouth have extended the contract of long-serving defender Adam Smith until June 2024.

Smith has made 306 appearances for the club initially joining on loan in 2010/11 before re-joining on a permanent basis in January 2014.

OFFICIAL: Dortmund sign Modeste

Borussia Dortmund have signed Anthony Modeste from Koln on a one-year deal as a replacement for Sebastien Haller.

Dortmund will pay their fellow Bundesliga side around £4.2m for the 34-year-old Frenchman, according to Sky in Germany.
