Napoli are close to an agreement to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, Tuttosport reports. The goalkeeper will head to the Serie A side with the aim of getting first-team football after falling out of favour at Chelsea.
Chelsea keen on Inter starlet
Chelsea want to sign Inter Milan’s talented young midfielder Cesare Casadei. The west London club have proposed paying between £5m and £7m for the 19-year-old, who has not yet played in Serie A, Sky in Italy say.
However, they describe Casadei as the “absolute protagonist” of the Inter youth team’s Primavera Scudetto victory last season, and he is considered one of the most important talents in the Italy youth setup. They are therefore not inclined to agree to such a fee to sell the U19 international.
Dortmund eye Piatek after Dzeko rejection
Edin Dzeko has turned down an offer to join Borussia Dortmund from Inter, says Calciomercato. The Bundesliga side are in the market for a new striker following the announcement that Sebastien Haller will be out for several months as he needs chemotherapy. Dortmund will now go after Krzysztof Piatek of Hertha Berlin.

Greek champions Olympiacos are interested in signing Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti, according to ESPN. The Frenchman does not appear to be in Barcelona manager Xavi’s plans for the new campaign, and a departure to Athens could be on the cards for the defender.

Max Eberl is negotiating with RB Leipzig about taking over as sporting director, Sky Sport in Germany claims. Eberl left Borussia Monchengladbach in January but appears to be ready to return to the game by joining another Bundesliga team.

Arsenal have announced that left-back Nuno Tavares has joined Marseille on a season-long loan. The left-back joined the Gunners from Benfica last summer and made 28 appearances last term. Mikel Arteta signed Oleksandr Zinchenko to compete with Kieran Tierney at left-back this summer.
Reading sign Porto midfielder Loum on loan
Reading have signed Senegal midfielder Mamadou Loum on loan from Porto. The 25-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Malaga, joins on a season-long deal subject to international clearance.
McCarthy joins Man Utd coaching staff
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag have added to their backroom team with the appointment of Benni McCarthy as a first-team coach. The former South Africa striker was a boyhood Man Utd fan and scored twice against the club for Porto in the 2003/04 Champions League knockout stages.
