Kai Havertz has completed a £65million transfer to Arsenal from Chelsea. The German forward confirmed his exit from Stamford Bridge in a heartfelt goodbye message moments before the Gunners announced his arrival.

Havertz becomes Mikel Arteta’s first signing of the summer transfer window after Arsenal agreed a £105million deal to sign Declan Rice from West Ham.

Man United to launch Caicedo bid

Manchester United have made contact with Brighton over midfielder Moises Caicedo ahead of launching a formal bid. Sky Sports claim both Caicedo and Mason Mount are of interest, though it remains to be seen if interest in the Seagulls star is in favour of a move for the England international.

United have been told by Chelsea to pay £65millon for Mount, though Caicedo is not expected to cost any less. Arsenal had a £70m bid for Caicedo rejected in January, and the club have since lost fellow midfielder Alex Mac Allister so are in no need to sell again.

Cheltenham Town sign defender after Derby County release

League One side Cheltenham Town have signed former Derby County captain Curtis Davies on a one-year deal following his release from the Rams.

The 38-year-old defender spent the past six years with Derby, making 175 appearances for them. Davies has played across the English football pyramid for clubs including Luton, West Brom, Aston Villa, Leicester and Hull.
