Exeter City have signed Bolton defender Will Aimson on a two-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee. The 28-year-old made 45 appearances for the Trotters after joining from Plymouth in June 2021, and has also had spells at Bury and Blackpool. Aimson is the third signing of the January transfer window for the Grecians who sit 13th in League One.
Newcastle still targeting Ziyech
Newcastle are still targeting a deal for Hakim Ziyech in the transfer window. The Moroccan attacker was though to be one of a trio of Chelsea players being targeted by the Magpies, but Eddie Howe and co. still remain ‘hot’ on the 29-year-old, according to GiveMeSport.
Manchester United readying move for Stefan de Vrij
Manchester United are readying a move for Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij but will face a lot of competition for his signature. De Vrij’s contract at Inter Milan is set to expire at the end of the season meaning he is able to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club during the January transfer window.
The Dutch defender is attracting interest from multiple clubs. A report from Sport Italia, via TEAMtalk, has claimed that Newcastle, Tottenham, Villarreal and Feyenoord have all presented offers to De Vrij. However, Manchester United are now expected to enter the race.
