Tottenham Hotspur started the game very well and caused problems for Everton’s defense. Somehow, Everton escaped the first half as the score was 0-0 at halftime.
Harry Kane broke the deadlock in the second half by scoring from the penalty spot after he was fouled by Jordan Pickford.
Later Rodrigo Bentancur scored to secure the 2-0 win for Tottenham which brought relief to Conte and their fans.
However, Alex Iwobi had an awful game which explains why his manager, Frank Lampard should be blamed. The Nigerian played the whole game and had the following numbers: 0 key passes, 0 shots, 1 completed dribble, and 1 tackle.
There were errors in the way Lampard set up his lineup tonight as Everton defended for the most part of the game which gave Spurs total control.
Lampard used a defensive lineup of 5-3-2 which shows that he didn’t come to North London to win. So Alex Iwobi is bound to have a terrible game.
