The most expensive among the quintet is Amine Ferid Gouiri. This Algerian born French player switched from OGC Nice to Stade Rennais (both in Ligue 1) on September 1, 2022 for a fee of €28m Meanwhile, this striker had made one assist for his former club in the current campaign before making this move.
The 2017 Europeab U-17 highest goal scorer only managed to score 10 goals in 38 League appearances last season.
Nigerian forward, Umar Sadiq Mesbah is the second man among them. This Super Eagles of Nigeria striker left UD Almeria (a newly promoted La Liga club) for Real Sociedad in a quest for Europa League action. The prolific scorer contributed 2 of the 4 goals scored by Almeria so far this season. This transfer is worth a sum of €20m.
The next player in the list is Carlos Soler who played as a midfielder for Valencia until the match day 3 of Spanish top flight. The midfielder msade the deadline move to Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of 18 million Euros.
The Spaniard (who market value is €50m) is the most valuable transfer on deadline day. The contract of the 25-year-old star with the reigning French Champions is expected to last for five years.
The next two men in this category are defenders who moved to English Premier League (EPL) clubs on deadline day. Manuel Akanji (a Nigerian-born Swiss player) moved to Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of 17.5 millin Euros. With this move, the Citizens have signed two players from the Bundesliga club this season. Interestingly, the first is a world class striker, Erling Haaland.
Belgian international, Wout Faes is the fifth among them. He left Stade Reims for Leicester City for a fee of 17m Euros on September 1. He is the most expensive player to be sold by the Ligue 1 outfit.
