This story began to unravel when Davido made a cryptic statement on Twitter, responding to ongoing accusations of unpaid debts. In his tweet, he wrote, “make nobody beg me, you wanna be famous, bah, okay.” The message hinted that Davido was gearing up to address the rumors about his financial obligations.

Of course, it didn’t take long for his fellow artists and industry insiders to weigh in on the matter. One of the most notable responses came from Samklef, who took to his Instagram to air his thoughts. In a somewhat humorous yet pointed manner, he referred to Davido as “owe owe 1,” a play on Davido’s signature “001”.

This creative wordplay was an attempt to label him as a beggar. Samklef continued his admonishment, advising Davido to follow the example of his Wizkid. Drawing a comparison to the iconic film “Scarface,” Samklef revealed that in certain situations, silence can be more powerful than making noise.  In the movie, when Sosa wants to make a move, he does so quietly. The criticisms didn’t stop there.

Samklef suggested that Davido should consider attending a lecture, specifically one on the “48 Laws of Power.” Further, he hinted that Davido often acted as if he had a “outside US mentality,”specially considering his international exposure and experiences.

Samklef wasn’t done with the comparisons, either. He brought Yung Duu, a former signee of Portable, into the mix, stating that even Yung Duu wouldn’t make the kinds of statements on Twitter that Davido had been making. Samklef concluded his message by challenging Davido to answer the big question: Does he owe money or not? He believes Davido should just come clean instead of making veiled threats.

Let’s recall that Kemi Filani had also reported that Blessing CEO accused Davido of owing 4.5 million Naira to a business card dealer named IVD. However, IVD promptly denied these claims.
