Today, April 10, 2024, the Kenyan government announced through the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) that it has launched a massive crackdown on all roadways that targets commercial motor vehicles that are overloaded.

The Kenyan government has also hinted that unauthorized passenger service vehicles (PSVs) traveling on major highways will be the target of the recently planned nationwide enforcement campaign by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and traffic cops.

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and traffic officers would be required to verify a number of important documents, including driver’s licenses and permits, according to a recent announcement from the Kenyan government.

In an effort to lower the frequency of traffic accidents, the Kenyan government also made hints that as part of the recently implemented crackdown, the NTSA and traffic officials will test drivers for drunk driving.

“As part of our commitment to maintaining road safety, the NTSA and NPS work together to perform compliance checks on important thoroughfares.
