Harry Maguire won’t play in the upcoming Manchester derby because of an injury he acquired during the international break, according to the Dutch manager.
The important Etihad Stadium battle might involve Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford now that they have resumed training.
To the media, Ten Hag said: “Harry Maguire is injured. For the rest, we have some doubts about Anthony Martial, but he was training all week with the group, performing really well, and made a good impression.
Rashford returns to training, so we are happy with that. The rest of the only long-term injuries are Axel Tuanzebe and Brandon Williams. ”
Anthony Martial has only made one league appearance for United this season due to injury worries. Despite having a fantastic preseason, he missed the first two games due to a hamstring injury.
The French great returned to action against Liverpool, but an Achilles injury forced him to sit out the rest of United’s games.
Marcus Rashford, who was recently named the Premier League’s player of the month for September, suffered a muscular injury in the Red Devils’ 3-1 victory over Arsenal.
Supporters will, however, be ecstatic to learn that Rashford and Martial may both be available for the forthcoming Manchester derby.
United will need to perform at their absolute best if they want to beat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, who have yet to lose a game in the English Premier League this season.
The Citizens seem to be very deadly, with Erling Haaland leading their attack. The Norwegian has already scored 11 goals in the Premier League.
