Despite enjoying an impressive and unbeaten run during their preseason tour, the Xavi men were unable to score even a single game as the game ended in a draw.
Barcelona saw themselves unbeaten throughout their preseason tour as they aim to challenge for the LaLiga and the UEFA champions league trophy this season.
Xavi and his recruiting team are enjoying a fruitful summer transfer window, with the likes of Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, and Raphinha, joining them this summer.
Despite having the money to lure big stars into the team, it seems that paying the new arrivals would be a difficult task for them.
Taking into consideration all the shares they have sold, Barcelona is still down financially and needed to sell some players or reduce salaries. The likes of Sergio Busquets and Gerard Pique have, but Frenkie De Jong, who is the club’s highest earner refused to do so.
The player’s anger is his deferred wage Barcelona is owing him. Despite owing the Dutchman, Barcelona is still threatening to take legal action against him, which is unacceptable. De Jong’s wish is to stay at the club, but he doesn’t want to lower his wage.
Xavi on the other hand made it known that the Dutch playmaker is one of them ahead of the new season. The Frenkie De Jong’s situation is still undecided, but it’s growing more likely that he may stay in the team, with Barcelona able to register almost all the new players.
So, having known these, here is how Barcelona could lineup their team to become unbeaten throughout the season after failing to win their first game of the second.
