Aubameyang and Denis Zakaria completed a transfer to Stamford Bridge on Transfer Deadline Day, while Todd Boehly sealed last-minute transactions.

The 33-year-old is one of eight first-team players signed by Chelsea during the summer transfer window, as Thomas Tuchel sought to bolster his squad ahead of the challenging 2022/23 campaign.

Drogba’s response on Twitter to the announcement of Aubameyang’s signing with the Blues indicates that he was ecstatic about the 33-year-old’a arrival.

The new Chelsea striker has responded to both Drogba and Xavi’s comments over the Gabonese forward’s departure from Camp Nou.

After the transfer deadline, Xavi addressed the press about Aubameyang’s exit from Barcelona after only eight months with the Catalan giants.

The Spanish boss stated: “Aubameyang was an example on and off the pitch, he made a big difference. If you look at his numbers, and as a person he’s a jewel. He was an example for the entire club and all the players.”

The 33-year-old responded to his former manager’s comments praising his performances and demeanor with a ‘praying’ emoji, indicating his appreciation for the good words.

Due to their financial difficulties and the influx of Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha to Camp Nou, Barcelona was willing to sell the Gabon international.

Aubameyang also replied to Drogba’s comments following the announcement of his transfer to Chelsea. In a post on Twitter, Drogba wrote: “Finally !!!!! Remember the time we spoke about it years ago Happy for you brother @Auba.”

The 33-year-old responded: “Finally! Just saw that tweet and I can’t feel more blessed than that.”

Aubameyang will hope to recuperate quickly from a broken jaw so that he can make his Chelsea debut, despite being able to practice at Cobham with his new teammates.

Once he makes his Premier League return, the Blues will hope that the 33-year-old can have a similar impact at Stamford Bridge as Didier Drogba.
