Under the ownership of Todd Boehly, the blues have landed major signings like Raheem Sterling from Manchester city and Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli. If the recent reports are anything to go by, the blues are set to add Paris Saint-German Defender, Kimpembe to their squad this summer.
Meanwhile, With the likes of Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Manchester city all bringing some major signings, Chelsea will have to bring their A-game when the new season begins.
Chelsea’s new setup for the season will definitely look quite different from last season’s due to some outgoings.
Goalkeeper
Despite being signed with a higher fee than Mendy, Kepa will no doubt remain the club’s second-choice goalie come next season. Edouard Mendy has been superb for the blues since he signed, keeping 30 premier league clean-sheets in 65 games.
Central Defense
Last season, the blues had the likes of Andreas Christensen, Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta, Chalobah, Thiago Silva, Sarr, and the rest.
However, with the departure of Rudiger and Christensen this summer, and the addition of Koulibaly and possibly Kimpembe, the blues could have a stronger defensive line next season. A back three of Koulibaly, Thiago Silva, and Kimpembe could give the blues a solid backline.
Wing Backs
With the likes of Azpilicueta, Alonso, Reece James, and Ben Chilwell all excelling at the wing-back role last season, tuchel’s preferred choice could be Chilwell and James.
Midfield
In the midfield, Ngolo Kante and Jorginho could retain their spots due to their compatibility. However, the return of Gallagher from his loan spell at Crystal palace could provide competition in the midfield.
Attack
With the addition of Raheem Sterling, an attacking trio of Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, and Sterling could be utilized by Tuchel. Other attacking options include Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Pulisic, and Hudson Odoi.
