On Match Day 37, Liverpool travels to Southampton in second position with 86 points, while Southampton is in 15th place with 40 points. Southampton only needs one point from their final two games to ensure their survival, but their recent record hasn’t been encouraging.

They’ve lost three of their last four games, all of which have seen them concede two or more goals. They’ve scored more than two goals in each of their last three games, and their single clean sheet came in a 1-0 triumph over Arsenal.

Liverpool are chasing two more titles, the most important of the four they are aiming for, but they are dealing with major injury concerns. Their FA Cup final victory over Chelsea came at a cost, as Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah were forced to withdraw due to injuries.

They join Fabinho, who is also injured, on the sidelines, and Jurgen Klopp is concerned. The German coach will be more concerned about the future than about this match, as he wants to win the Champions League.

As Liverpool looks to extend their 16-game unbeaten streak, they will undoubtedly have capable replacements. They’ve only kept two clean sheets in their last five games, and with a weakened defence, Southampton might cause them troubles.

CONCLUSION:

Liverpool are heavy favourites heading into this match, and the only question will be whether they can keep a clean sheet. They got one in the FA Cup final against Chelsea, but with Fabinho and van Dijk out injured, they’ll take it easy this time.
