Raspadori and Politano scored late goals for Napoli in yesterday’s Serie A tie with newly promoted Genoa, giving them a point.
Although Napoli had the majority of possession, they were unable to penetrate Genoa’s staunch defense, and none of their five shots were successful.
Genoa, on the other hand, capitalized on their weaknesses and had the advantage. Retegui saw one of his shots deflect around the post, and his team scored from the next corner.
Bani was able to escape his defender and score from close range after De Winter knocked Gudmundsson’s ball across the area.
Retegui subsequently beat Meret with a strong assist from Strootman into the area, giving the home team a 2-0 lead.
Then, in the final 15 minutes, the Serie A champions attempted a comeback. Raspadori scored his first goal of the year with a rocket strike past Martinez, and Politano added a second with a flawless volley.
Napoli attempted to get a third but was unable to generate another significant opportunity, losing significant ground in the fight for the championship.

Inter Milan remain in first place after their emphatic 5-1 victory over AC Milan. Inter has now recorded four wins in four, but Juventus remain close with 10 points after beating Lazio 3-1 in front of their fans.
