The match was controversial as there were incidents in which the referee should have sent a player off. Barcelona young midfielder Pablo Gavi should have been sent off after commiting brutal fouls during the first half of the match, at first there was a harsh challenge on Real Madrid midfielder Camavinga and later on he went and elbowed Eder Militao on the face.
Spanish international midfielder Gavi was not booked for any of the fouls and questions need to be asked because they fouls were clear card offenses.
Real Madrid will return to Spotify Camp Nou for the second leg of the encounter next week, and a 2 goal Margin win will be enough to send them to the Copa Del Rey final.
