After losing out on UEFA champions league qualifiers by a hair’s breadth, the Spanish manager has been reliant on Eddie Nketiah and the Frenchman up front. This has shown that a new deadly attacker is probably required after the team came so close to dropping out.
Although the Gunners have been associated with a number of crucial players, such as Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling, Tottenham Hotspurs have joined the race to hijack the deal. The race is now being led by Tottenham Hotspurs.
However, according to Mirror Football, the Gunners are getting closer to acquiring Alvaro Morata from Juventus. The report claims that the former Chelsea player is reportedly open to the possibility of returning to the Premier League.
Morata hasn’t been a regular starter in Serie A, so it’s expected that he will leave the league in search of more playing time. Arteta is interested in acquiring Morata’s services because he sees him as a better and cheaper target to lead his attacking department than other players who are available.
In addition to Morata, the North London club is continuing to keep an eye on the circumstances surrounding Napoli attacker Victor Osimhen.
