In mid-April, the Ex-Serbian international confirmed his wish to quit the Manchester based club, and his contract would expire at the end of June.
A number of teams have expressed interest in his services, and it was widely reported that he would like to work with former United head coach Jose Mourinho again.
The veteran midfielder will work with the Portuguese tactician for the third time after previously working with them at Chelsea and United. He’ll now undergo his medical in Italy tomorrow.
The 33-year-old will then sign a one-year deal with the Serie A outfit & the Giallorossi will be able to prolong his stay for another campaign.
Matic had a promising start to his United career, but his poor mobility quickly became an issue. In the XI, Paul Pogba, Fred, and Scott McTominay were preferred over him.
Even though the club wished to keep the Serbian, he got more playing time under temporary manager Ralf Rangnick earlier this year. However, the choice to move on was the best.
