But then, Chelsea football club want to challenge for the Premier League trophy next season and are very much aware of the need to reshuffle their squad ahead of the new season.

And if reports are anything to go by, then Chelsea football club are prepared to offload young left-back Ian Maatsen before the ongoing summer transfer window closes.

The 20-year-old Netherlands International, who gained promotion to the Chelsea U-23 squad back in 2019 is yet to break into the first-team squad over the previous seasons.

The young left-back was sent out on loan to Coventry City during the just concluded 2021/2022 season where he scored three goals and created one assist in 42 appearances in all competitions.

His impressive performances in defence is believed to have caught the attention of Burnley and according to reports from Daily Mail, the Championship side are keen on signing him on loan.

The reports further claimed that Ian Maatsen is also interested in a move to join Burnley this summer transfer window and he is set to have his medicals as soon as possible.

It is believed that the highly-rated left-back does not view him as an integral part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans for the new season and he has decided to join Burnley on a loan deal.

That said, the young Ian Maatsen is now expected to seal a loan move to join Burnley football club with the aim of helping the side in their battle for promotion back to the Premier League.
