Due to this, Arsenal football club are looking to strengthen that department and have been linked with a move for highly-rated Bologna left-back Aaron Hickey this summer.
The 20-year-old Scotland International, who signed up for Bologna after departing Scottish side Hearts of Midlothian in 2020 has been very impressive since he made the move.
The young left-back was heavily involved for Bologna during the just concluded 2021/2022 season where he scored five goals and created one assist in 36 appearances in all competitions.
His impressive performances in defence is believed to have caught the attention of Arsenal and according to reports from The Sun, the Gunners are keen on signing him.
The reports further claimed that Arsenal football club are keen on Aaron Hickey and are now prepared to submit an official transfer bid to lure him away from Bologna this summer.
It is believed that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is a big fan of Aaron Hickey and the manager has implored the club to add him to his squad now that the transfer window is officially opened.
But then, it remains to be seen if Aaron Hickey will choose to continue his developments at Bologna or he will be interested in a move to join Arsenal football club this summer.
