Manchester United and Barcelona are reportedly in talks over a transfer fee for the Netherland international.
Frenkie De Jong isn’t the only midfielder the Ex-Ajax Bos wants to reunite with, Christian Eriksen of Brentford has also emerged as a target.
The Ex-Inter Milan playmaker trained with Ajax’s Ten Hag last year when the midfielder was recuperating from a heart attack, and he’s now drawing interest from top European clubs after a fine season with Brentford in the English Premier League.
The Denmark international isn’t seen to be a replacement for De Jong, but rather a target — the pair could fill the hole left by many midfield exits this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur, Brentford, and Newcastle United are all said to be interested in the playmaker and it’s now been reported that he’s ‘pretty likely’ to return to Spurs since he wants to stay in London.
And according to the Athletic, the race to sign the creative midfielder is between Antonio Conte’s Spurs & Thomas Franck’s Brentford. Christian Eriksen currently earns £23,462 which wouldn’t be an issue for both clubs.
