According to the Manchester Evening News, Man City will want at least £50million to even consider selling Ake in this current transfer window.

It is understood that Chelsea are looking at a potential move for the 27-year-old, who was previously on the books at Stamford Bridge earlier in his career.

However, the report says Pep Guardiola’s side won’t allow the centre-back to exit the Etihad Stadium without having a replacement lined up first. They’ve got that steep price tag on the Holland international, too.

Ake will cost over £50m

It sounds like Chelsea will need to dig deep into their pockets to fork up a big transfer fee for Ake.

The left-footed centre-half has proven himself in the past two seasons to be a valuable squad player for Premier League champions Man City, albeit he’s never been a star man regularly starting matches.

It’s been reported Blues manager Thomas Tuchel is a fan of Ake and would like to add him to his squad. Will reports of a new price tag put Chelsea off, though?

There’s no doubt Ake’s got the attributes to fit into the left of Chelsea’s back three with his pace, strength and quality on the ball. His game continues to get better under the tutelage of City boss Guardiola, too.

However, Blues supporters may be sceptical about re-signing former players after seeing the way it worked out for Romelu Lukaku last season.

There’s big pressure on the next Chelsea defender that has to follow in the footsteps of Antonio Rudiger at centre-back.
