Amrabat, 26, has been one of the real standout players at this winter’s World Cup in Qatar.

The midfield enforcer has been a talisman for Morocco, who made it as far as the semi-finals before defeat against France. They do play Croatia this Saturday in the third place play-off, though.

It’s no big surprise to hear Amrabat linked with a move away from Fiorentina.

Chelsea interested in Amrabat

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are now one of several teams that have set their sights on Fiorentina’s rising star.

The report says Tottenham, Liverpool, West Ham, Newcastle and Atletico Madrid are all potential buyers, too.

Amrabat’s club career has been spent in the Netherlands, Belgium and now Italy. But is he set for the big lights of the Premier League after his displays on the World Cup stage?

It’s worth highlighting that Spurs were actually close to signing the Fiorentina midfielder last January, with Calciomercato explaining a deal was on the brink before it eventually fell through.

Described as “absolutely magnificent” by Alan Shearer on BBC One (14 December), Amrabat looks tailor-made for Premier League football when you watch him in action.
