Gareth Southgate’s men were hoping to get a response after they had a disappointing match against Hungary who beat them 1-0 in their last match of the competition.

The two European giants’ sides shared a 1-1 draw in the match with fans enjoying pure attacking football from both countries. The hosts were dominant, especially in the first half where they had 5 shots on target.

Jonas Hofmann gave his team the lead in the 50th minute after his goal in the first half was ruled out as offside. The visitors had to wait until the 88th minute to get the equaliser through Harry Kane who converted from a spot-kick.

Chelsea and Germany forward Kai Havertz started as the main attacker for the German side ahead of his club teammate Timo Werner. The 22-year-old star was impressive in the match and his performance was decent playing a big part in the brilliant display from Hansi Flick’s men.

The German international had the same amount of shots on target as the entire English team in the first half. The Chelsea star had 2 shots on goal the same as Gareth Southgate’s men after earning his first start in UEFA Nations League this year.
