The €100m Real Madrid paid Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo has to be one of the best spent money in transfer history. In his 9 years with the club, he won 4 UEFA Champions League, 4 Ballon D’or titles and left in 2018 as the club’s highest goalscorer.
Ronaldo didn’t leave Real Madrid in the best way in terms of farewell, he didn’t get the proper send-off of a legend like Sergio Ramos and Marcelo got with a display of the trophies they won. The farewell was so heartwarming for both players that they shed tears during the event.
If there is one thing that Real Madrid still owes Ronaldo after all he did for them, it is a befitting send off because he deserves it just like Sergio Ramos and Marcelo.
This is not an impossible feat because when Raul left Real Madrid, he didn’t get a farewell, but they came back years later. It was beautiful because he had a farewell match too.
Cristiano did too much for Real Madrid for him not to enjoy a befitting farewell.
