In September, the House had called on the President to designate the bandits as terrorists who have taken over the North-West and parts of the North-Central region.
The House is aware that despite the alarming statistics on education in Nigeria, the dreaded Boko Haram group and bandits have launched massive attacks in the North that have led to the kidnapping of many students and also elevated the number of out-of-school children in Nigeria.
More concern by the House of Reps on the failure of the Federal Ministry of Education, states ministries of education, and private school owners on the laxity of providing necessary security despite the security challenges.
