Sheila Bamboo’s body was found sprawled on the bedding soaked in blood.

Though unconfirmed, sources indicated the deceased was killed in a love-gone-sour plot supposedly perpetrated by her husband.

The circumstances of the woman’s death came as a great shock to those who knew her and her husband, given that they constantly and publicly displayed their affection courting admiration from their audiences.

Graphic shots shared online showed deep cuts on her neck, suggesting she was attacked by a sharp object.

Until her tragic death, Sheila was a renowned figure among the Ohangla genre circles and the proprietor of JB Lounge, an entertainment joint in Nairobi’s Umoja area.

With her name well established in the Luo entertainment scenes, equally popular figures in those circles eulogised her persona.

The body was ferried to the morgue as investigations into her death paced up.

This would add to the piling cases of femicide that were on a constant surge in the country from the start of the year.

In January alone, at least 14 women were killed by their love partners.

So frequent had the cases become that it prompted reactions from all the quarters that matter.

Kenya’s opposition chief, Raila Odinga, was among the concerned people.

He called for appropriate action from the government’s security agencies.

The veteran politician suggested that the murders would not be justified by any excuse, adding that the tragedies had met the description of a national emergency.
