He pointed out that the only historical instance where the federal government intervened in a state affair was during the 1st Republic when a state of emergency was declared in the West.
He suggested that if the situation in Rivers State escalates, the President should not intervene but rather consider declaring a constitutional crisis, allowing the appointment of a commissioner to take over the affairs of the state.
He said in an interview with Arise TV, ”The constitutional role of the President in all of this fracas. There should have been none. Because we were not expecting it.
