As we prepare for the second matchday of the Premier League season, our experts take a look at the bookmakers’ predictions for the upcoming matches.

Let’s check out three betting tips for Matchday 3 of the 2022-23 Premier League campaign.

Don’t expect goals when Everton take on Nottingham Forest

Forest claimed their first Premier League victory of the season by beating West Ham at their home stadium.

The newly promoted side showed great defensive form and even had several chances to double their lead.

We expect Forest to take a more conservative approach when meeting Everton at Goodison Park this weekend.

On the other hand, the Toffees’ attacking line have failed to impress in their first two games of the season.

We expect Frank Lampard’s side to push for the home win, but Forest will most likely keep them at bay for most of the game.

Back Leicester City to beat Southampton

Leicester suffered a 4-2 defeat in their second league game of the season against Arsenal last Saturday.

The Foxes will hope to claim their first victory of the season when they meet Southampton.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have struggled for defensive consistency recently, but their impressive attacking stats convince us that they will beat Southampton on home soil.

The Saints are also dealing with defensive problems, but their goal numbers don’t suggest they can prevent Leicester from outscoring them in the upcoming match.

Expect goals on both sides when Aston Villa take on Crystal Palace

Villa bounced back from their surprise defeat against Bournemouth by beating Everton last weekend.

Next up, they must face Crystal Palace, who come into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw at Anfield.

Based on Villa’s recent attacking form, we expect them to find enough goalscoring opportunities at Selhurst Park.

However, their defensive displays combined with Palace’s home record convince us that the hosts will also score at least once on Saturday.
