It is believed that Chelsea are weighing up a bid for Portuguese midfielder, Matheus Nunes, this summer.
N’Golo Kante and Jorginho are both entering the final year of their contracts this summer, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been linked to a move away, making the midfield position one of uncertainty.
Nunes played 50 times for Lisbon last season, recording four goals and five assists – not a bad tally for a central midfielder, in my opinion.
Matheus Nunes is different energy to the Chelsea team, and he seems more like a long-term investment than his compatriot, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo is undoubtedly one of the best goal-scorers in Europe at the moment. However, Chelsea doesn’t have to waste their time searching for a short-term solution to their goalscoring woes.
With Sterling already close to securing a move to Stamford Bridge, a deal for Nunes might just be the right step to take as Tuchel hopes to build a formidable team this season.
I guess Tuchel should sign Matheus Nunes instead of Cristiano Ronaldo this summer if he wants to build a formidable team.
